![]() I copied the old HD to the 800GB partition and designated the User folders on it as the active user folders. I partitioned the new SSD into a 200GB "OS partition" and use the remainder as the "Data partition." I saw this suggested on another site so that clean installs of the OS could be done without losing any data. ![]() I finally bought a 1TB SSD and am using it for both the OS and data, and the iMac is finally working as expected. Previously I installed a 250GB SSD for the OS, but kept all other data on the internal HD, so it was still very slow. Using external drive as start up disk I am using an external usb SSD for startup and storage for a late 2015 iMac. ![]()
